İnanılması güç ama gerçek! Çanakkale'yi önemli kılan tatlardan birisi de peynir helvası. Yöre halkının yıllardır özenle hazırladığı bu tat, Çanakkale'de birçok yerde denenebilir. Peynir helvasının ana maddesi tuzsuz koyun peyniridir. Fakat keçi,koyun ve inek peyniri karıştırılarak da kullanılabilir. Diğer malzemeleri ise şeker, irmik ve yumurtadır. Bazı köylerde ise irmik yerine un kullanılmaktadır. Bu malzemelerden oluşan peynir helvası sıcak, soğuk, fırınlanmış ya da fırınlanmamış olarak yenilebilir. Ayrıca bazı işletmeler günümüzde yanında fıstık ve dondurma da sunmaktadır. Bağımlısı olacağınız bu lezzeti tatmadan Çanakkale'den dönmeyin. Afiyet olsun. Gallipolis... It is coming from ancient Greek language. Kalli means beautiful in the language. Polis means city. Combination of both words creates name of the city "beautiful city".
